Toposens ECHO ONE® wins “Best Product” at LogiMAT 2023

MEYSENS GmbH was awarded the prestigious “Best Product” prize this morning at the opening ceremony of LogiMAT 2023 for its unique 3D ultrasonic sensor “ECHO ONE®”. LogiMAT takes place annually at the Messe Stuttgart exhibition centre and has established itself as Europe’s leading trade fair for intralogistics.

A world first convinces expert jury

Once again, one of the most coveted awards in the intralogistics sector will be presented at LogiMAT. Exhibitors have the opportunity to present their products in advance. These will then be judged by an independent jury according to criteria such as cost-effectiveness, innovation and increased efficiency.

The jury for the LogiMAT ‘Best Product’ award is made up of experts from a wide range of sectors. They include representatives from business, science and the media. The prize is awarded in three categories. The Toposens ECHO ONE® system solution convinced the jury in the category “Order picking, conveying, lifting and storage technology”.

ECHO ONE® is the world’s first and only sensor of its kind. It is based on a groundbreaking technology that enables driverless transport systems to detect their surroundings in three dimensions and avoid collisions with objects. The sensors use ultrasonic echolocation as known from bats.

This allows them to measure precise distances to obstacles using 3D coordinates and thus create an accurate representation of the environment. And thanks to its IP67 rating, this is completely independent of the respective environment, be it indoors or outdoors.

Whilst sensors based on optical-based technology can have problems detecting in unfavourable lighting conditions or surface conditions, the Toposens ECHO ONE® system provides reliable 3D object data in real time. This minimises collisions in factories and warehouses and maximises the productivity of automated guided vehicles.
